Luego de varias presentaciones en Buenos Aires y de dos giras consecutivas
por el sur de Brasil, se cierra el ciclo de La Saga:
trío de guitarras que disponía un repertorio amplio
en cuanto a géneros: jazz, bossa nova y tango.
La agrupación se disuelve cuando Gastón Puy y Osvaldo
López, dos de sus integrantes, deciden formar una banda dedicada
netamente al tango. En marzo de 2002, con la incorporación
de Leandro Juárez en la tercer guitarra, nace La Ochava
Tango.
Este nuevo trío interpreta arreglos propios pensados y basados
en la experimentación y en la forma de concebir la música
de cada uno de sus integrantes. En este nuevo camino, la búsqueda
los ha llevado a experimentar desde lo instrumental explotando al
máximo las posibilidades tímbricas de la guitarra, como
también conceptos de composición clásica tales
como el contrapunto, la fuga, etc.
El repertorio es variado, La Ochava Tango interpreta
temas desde la Guardia Vieja hasta tangos de vanguardia, pasando por
compositores de la talla de Arolas, Cobian, Gardel, Piazzola, etc.
“Muchas son las metas que nos hemos propuesto como
músicos, de todas, hacerles conocer nuestra obra es la que
más fascinante nos resulta. Si algo nos engrandece como músicos
y nos emociona como jóvenes es interpretar la música
que marcó la juventud de nuestros abuelos y que nos seguirá
identificando como pueblo y como ciudadanos. Sentimos la enorme
responsabilidad de perpetuar ese legado.”

After several presentations and two consecutive tours in the south
of
Brasil, they decided to end the Guitar Trio "La Saga",
a formation with a
wide range of styles like jazz, bossa nova and tango.
This group was disolved when Gastón Puy and Osvaldo López
dediced to make up
a band dedicated entirely to play tango.
In March 2002 with the incorporation of Leandro Juarez in the third
guitar
La Ochava Tango is born. This new trio
plays original arragements, based on
the experimentation and the way to concive the music of each of its
members.
In this new path, the search has taken them to experiment, from the
instrumental point of view, the guitar’s maximum possibilities,
as well as the concept of classical composition such as the counterpoint,
the fugue etc.
The repertoire is varied, La Ochava Tango plays themes
not only from Guardia Vieja to avant –garde tangos, but also
from composers such as Arolas, Cobián, Gardel, Piazzola, etc.

fascinating one is showing you our work. If there is something that
makes us proud musicians and moves us as young people, is to interprete
the music that marked our grandparents’ youth and that will
go on identifying us as people (and citizens)

Formación Profesional
Cursando en la actualidad Instrumentista de Jazz en la
Escuela de Música Popular de Avellaneda (E.M.P.A.). Cursos
de guitarra, armonía y composición musical con el
guitarrista Guillermo Capocci.
Actividad Artística Profesional
Integra un cuarteto de jazz con el saxofonista Ariel Domínguez,
el bajista Hernán Lezak y el baterista Augusto Nenezian.
Fue cesionista en la orquesta de Chicago “El Musical”,
en el teatro Sky Ópera y en Zorba El Griego, Teatro el Nacional.
Integró un dúo de jazz y bossa nova con el guitarrista
Pablo Gutiérrez. Formó parte del trío La Saga.

Formación Profesional
Instrumentista de Jazz, recibido en la Escuela de Música
Popular de Avellaneda (E.M.P.A.).
Clases de guitarra, composición, arreglos y armonía,
con reconocidos profesionales tales como Gerardo Villar, Osvaldo
Suárez, Guillermo Capocci.
Actividad Artística Profesional
Forma parte del grupo de ska – reggae Inestables,
integra el quinteto de la cantante Carla Bartok, desempeñándose
como guitarrista (Casino Trilenium / Tigre – Pcia. de Bs.
As.), conforma el dúo de acid - jazz Jazztamos II, fue integrante
del trío de guitarras La Saga, formó parte del cuarteto
de jazz Jazztamos y del grupo de rock progresivo Luis XIV.
Dicta clases particulares desde 1994. Se desempeña como docente
de música en colegios del estado, privados y de formación
bilingüe.

Maestro de Música recibido en la Escuela de Música
Popular de Avellaneda (E.M.P.A.). En la actualidad, cursa quinto
año de la carrera Instrumentista de Jazz en la E.M.P.A. Tomó
clases particulares con los profesores Néstor Crespo y Guillermo
Celano.
Actividad Artística Profesional
Forma un trío de jazz con el bajista Federico Hilal
abordando distintos géneros musicales. Desde el año
2000, dicta clases de música en colegios y da clases particulares.

He is actually studing the Jazz Musician Career at The Avellaneda
School of Music (E.M.P.A.). He took private lessons of guitar, composition
and harmony with a well known professional, Guillermo Capocci.
Professional Activity
He takes part in a Jazz quartet with Ariel Dominguez (Sax), Hernán
Lezak (Bass) and Augusto Nenezian (Drums). He is sessionist in the
“Chicago Musical” at the Sky Opera Theatre and in “Zorba
the Greek” at the National Theatre. He took part in a duet
with the guitarist Pablo Gutiérrez covering several styles
like Jazz and Bossa Nova. Puy also took part in “La Saga Trío”.
Nowadays he is working as private teacher.

He is graduated in the Jazz Musician Career at The Avellaneda School
of Music (E.M.P.A.). He took private lessons of guitar, composition
and harmony with well known professionals such as Guillermo Capocci,
Gerardo Villar, Osvaldo Suárez, etc.
Professional Activity
He is taking part in “The Inestables Ska Reggae Group”
and also is working as guitarist in The Carla Bartok Quintet, performing
at The Trilenium Cassino (Tigre-Bs. As.).
Actually he also performs with The Jazztamos II Acid Jazz Duet with
the sax player Leandro Farías.
In the past he was a member of “La Saga Guitar Trio”,
“The Jazztamos Quartet” and “Luis XIV” a
progressive rock band.
He is also working as teacher of music at several private, state
and bilingual schools. Private teacher since 1994.

He is graduated on the career of teacher in music at The Avellaneda
School of Music (E.M.P.A.). Actually he is at the fifth year of
the Jazz Musician Career at the same music school.
He took private guitar lessons with Nestor Crespo and Guillermo
Celano.
Professional activity
He has been working with the bass player Federico Hilal in a duet
formation covering many musical styles.
Private teacher since 2000 and he also works at state schools as
music teacher.
